it&#8217;s just becoming another tool we grow up with.]]></description><link>https://www.briansnotebook.com/p/one-day-we-wont-care-who-wrote-it</link><guid isPermaLink="false">https://www.briansnotebook.com/p/one-day-we-wont-care-who-wrote-it</guid><dc:creator><![CDATA[Brian]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Wed, 19 Nov 2025 18:00:50 GMT</pubDate><enclosure url="https://substack-post-media.s3.amazonaws.com/public/images/c7524016-d6bb-4d56-b17f-ec6ec6155bd9_1024x1024.png" length="0" type="image/jpeg"/><content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There&#8217;s a day coming when we won&#8217;t care anymore about how something was made.</p><p></p><p>We won&#8217;t stop to ask:</p><p>&#8220;Did AI write this?&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;Did AI create this video?&#8221;</p><p>&#8220;Was this song written by a human or a model?&#8221;</p><p></p><p>It will feel as normal as asking whether someone used a calculator, or typed on a computer instead of a typewriter, or drove a car instead of riding a horse.</p><p></p><p>We&#8217;ve already lived through this kind of change before.</p><p></p><p>Nobody complains that we replaced chisels and stone tablets with pens and paper.</p><p>Nobody is upset that the typewriter disappeared when computers arrived.</p><p>No one argues that kids should still do long division on paper instead of using a calculator.</p><p></p><p>One era fades into another.</p><p>The generation living through the transition struggles.</p><p>The generation born after the transition doesn&#8217;t notice it at all.</p><p></p><p>That&#8217;s what&#8217;s happening right now with AI.</p><p></p><p>It might wash your dishes in a robot.</p><p>It might create a virtual world in your headset.</p><p>It might help find the cure for the disease you&#8217;re facing.</p><p>It might help you write the song you couldn&#8217;t find the words for.</p><p>It might help you tell the girl you love how you really feel.</p><p>It might just help you keep up with life.</p><p></p><p>Tools change.</p><p>Humans don&#8217;t.</p><p></p><p>Every era loses some skills and gains new ones.</p><p></p><p>A generation that grew up outside stayed out longer and knew their neighbors.</p><p>A generation today knows less handwriting but more coding.</p><p>Some exploration was lost.</p><p>Other exploration was gained.</p><p>The world shifts.</p><p>People still have to find their purpose.</p><p></p><p>Even with all the technology in the world, no one escapes the real work of:</p><p></p><ul><li><p>building relationships</p></li><li><p>finding meaning</p></li><li><p>learning to love</p></li><li><p>discovering why they&#8217;re here</p></li><li><p>growing into who they&#8217;re meant to be</p></li></ul><p></p><p>AI can help with some of that.</p><p>Maybe even more than we expect.</p><p></p><p>But it can&#8217;t replace a real relationship.</p><p>It can&#8217;t replace a soul.</p><p>It can&#8217;t replace the human heart.</p><p></p><p>Right now, we&#8217;re living in the transition years &#8212; the &#8220;in-between&#8221; where one world is disappearing and a new one is arriving.</p><p></p><p>People like us have to learn how to adjust, adapt, and thrive.</p><p>Future generations won&#8217;t feel this same tension.</p><p>They&#8217;ll have new struggles of their own.</p><p></p><p>But in every generation, people still need to find their purpose.</p><p>They still need to love people.</p><p>They still need to be fully alive.</p><p></p><p>AI might change how we work.</p><p>But it won&#8217;t change why we&#8217;re here.</p><p></p><div><hr></div><p>What about you?</p><p></p><p>How do you feel about living through this transition with AI?
