Where to Start?
I've been trying to think of the best way to start this newsletter.
I read an article by Tim Denning that talked about using one or two words for your newsletter title, and then your name. I feel like life is a series of leveling up. There are new challenges and opportunities that happen every day. New chances to be transformed by the difficulties of the day.
Changing Perspective
For many people, challenges are often perceived as terrible moments. They look at the moments and say, life is terrible.
However, what would happen if we began to change our perspective about challenges in life as opportunities to level up?
You've heard it said that when you get squeezed you get to see the stuff that comes out of you. What happens when you get squeezed, and you don't like the things that come out? Was it the situation that caused bad things inside of you to come out or was it that bad things were still present within you?
If there were bad things around you that caused the bad to come out, then you would have to change your situation.
Getting a New Nature
However, if it's the bad things that are in you, then you've got to change what's in you. The most efficient way to change what's in you is to get a new nature. The only way to get a new nature is to get a new life from Jesus. No one else offers new life and new nature to you than Him. He laid down His life for you to give His life to you. It's a divine exchange. The only way to receive this divine exchange is to repent from your old way of thinking and doing things and to receive Jesus as Lord of your life.
Receiving a New Lord
Once you've received Jesus as Lord, the real adventure begins. Previously you've been bound to base desires and the ways of the world, but now you are free to walk by the Spirit of God. You immediately receive a new nature and a new life in Christ. You are a new creation. You have been set free from all the power of the enemy. You've been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. You now abide in Christ, and the Spirit of the living God abides in you.
So what happens now when you're squeezed?
When you're squeezed now, Jesus comes out. When you face difficult circumstances, He comes out.
But sometimes, you see that some old ways of thinking still manage to make their way out. The way you used to do things still brings out the worst of you.
How does transformation continue?
Go to Jesus. Look to Him. Allow yourself to look into His wondrous face. Ask Him what He would do in the situations you're facing. Ask Him to give you wisdom, insight, and revelation for the squeezing that's happening.
Then watch how your life transforms. You'll begin to see that you level up in situations. The old enemies you faced are no longer enemies that faze you. You flick them away without a breath of exhaustion. The old bosses crumble before you. You step forward into the next level to face the new challenges with the new skills and abilities you've learned along the way.
Abide in Christ, and you'll keep leveling up with every battle you face. You end up embarking on a hero's journey of epic proportions.
God is inviting you into a life that He writes as the Lord of your life. The best level ups only come from Him.
You can only join this journey by following His way, truth, and life.
Receive Him as Lord today. Have your sins forgiven. Level up with Jesus. He is Lord.
