Safe in His Hands: Can I Lose My Salvation?
Biblical assurance for every believer
Many Christians struggle with questions like:
“Can I lose my salvation?”
“What if I didn’t believe enough?”
“What if I fail or stumble—am I still saved?”
The Bible gives a clear and comforting answer: If you have believed the gospel of Christ, your salvation is secure in Him.
Jesus Promised Eternal Security
“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
— John 10:28–29
If you have believed the gospel — that Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose again — you are in the double grip of the Son and the Father.
Eternal life is already yours
You will never perish
No one can take you away from Him
We Are Kept by God’s Power
“…kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
— 1 Peter 1:5
Your salvation doesn’t rest on your strength — it rests on His promise and power.
Even if you stumble or grow weak, God keeps you from ultimate loss.
God Is Able to Keep You
“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy…”
— Jude 24
Believers may stumble, but God will never let His children fall away completely.
Our salvation is secure because God is faithful, not because we never fail.
But What About Doubts?
Even secure believers may wrestle with fear:
“What if I didn’t pray right?”
“What if I didn’t believe enough?”
“What if I mess up too much?”
The Bible gives peace:
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life…”
— John 3:36
It doesn’t say “might have” or “will have later.”
It says you have everlasting life now if you believe.
Eternal Security Encourages True Faith
Knowing that your salvation is safe:
Gives peace and joy
Helps you love and serve God freely, not in fear
Encourages you to share the gospel, because God’s promise is sure
Eternal security is not a license to sin — it’s the foundation for a confident, loving walk with Christ.
A Final Word
If you have believed the gospel, you are safe in His hands.
No one can take you away (John 10:28–29)
God’s power keeps you (1 Peter 1:5)
He will present you faultless (Jude 24)
Even if your faith wavers, He remains faithful:
“If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”
— 2 Timothy 2:13
Rest in His promise.
Rejoice in His love.
And live with the confidence that eternal life really is eternal.
