Sunday Stories Part 3
Pain Disappears from Back Surgeries
Asking for Prayer for Myself
There was an awesome message about missions on Sunday, and I've been feeling an urge to speak more publicly. I’ve been nervous about it, so I went up at the end of the service to receive some prayer.
My Back Area Starts Hurting? Who is it?
After I was prayed for, I was feeling pain in my back area. I wasn’t sure if it was the guy who was praying for me, but I wanted to check anyway. I would rather be wrong and miss it rather than miss praying for someone the Lord wanted me to pray for.
So I asked him if he had any pain in his back area, and he told me that he always had pain because he had multiple back surgeries as a kid.
I asked him if it was hurting right then, if he wanted the pain to go, and if I could pray for him.
He said, “yes.”
I prayed for him twice, and I asked him to check it afterward.
No More Pain
He moved around, and he told me that he didn’t have any pain anymore.
I went to receive prayer, but the Lord also wanted to love on this other guy.
Reflection
I’d rather be wrong about something and have spent time trying to love someone, then holding back and not loving on someone. I could have been wrong about the guy’s back, but it ended up being something he had been dealing with since he was a kid.
Your Turn
When you start feeling a pain you haven’t felt before, perhaps it’s not your pain? Perhaps it’s someone around you, and the Lord wants you to love them. He wants you to pray for them. He wants you to step out in boldness to tell the pain to go away in the name of Jesus.
It could be scary. It is often in the beginning. However, if you never step out. If you never try, you’ll never know what’s possible.
Next time you feel something hurting, ask around to see if it’s actually someone else. Then pray for them. Tell the pain to go away.
Be blessed!

What happens when two people get the same word at the same time?
