Welcome Back to Brian’s Notebook
A fresh start, a simpler rhythm, and a new way to share life, faith, and stories.
Hi friends —
I wanted to take a moment to restart this Substack in a way that finally feels right.
I tried using Substack in the past, and to be honest, I made it harder than it needed to be. I kept trying to make every post perfect, polished, and “worthy” of sending out. I didn’t have sections, I didn’t have a rhythm, and scheduling never quite worked the way I hoped. So I eventually fell back into posting everything on Facebook.
But over time I realized something:
my thoughts and stories were getting buried.
Everything I wrote just disappeared down the Facebook timeline.
And I kept wishing I had a place to save the things God was showing me —
a place where my stories, reflections, conversations, dreams, Bible studies, and creative ideas could live instead of disappearing after two days.
So I’m starting again.
And this time I’m doing it completely differently.
A New Way of Using Substack
Instead of trying to make every post perfect, I’m treating this as exactly what the name says:
Brian’s Notebook.
A simple place to write things down.
This time, everything is organized into sections:
Faith & Bible
Life & Stories
Creativity: AI, Art & Music
Conversations With Muslims
Guarding the Gospel (Calvinism Series)
Quick Notes / Notebook Entries
I write about a lot of different things, and now everything has its own home instead of all being mixed together.
Most of what I write will be posted quietly on the site, without sending an email.
I don’t want to overwhelm anyone’s inbox.
The plan is simple:
One main email each week
(and everything else gets posted silently)
So if you’re subscribed, you’ll only get the most meaningful stuff in your inbox — usually on Sundays. The smaller thoughts, quick stories, art experiments, dream notes, or theological deep-dives will still be here, just not emailed.
You can read the rest whenever you want.
Why I’m Writing Here Again
I’ve realized something important:
My thoughts come fast, and writing helps me sort them out. And honestly, writing on Substack lets me slow down enough to think clearly — but without the pressure to be perfect.
I want this to be a place where I share:
the things God is teaching me
moments that impacted me
conversations that made me think
Bible reflections from the KJV
healing stories
dreams
prophetic moments
creative ideas
and anything else worth remembering
Facebook is great for quick thoughts, and I’ll still post there.
But this space is where everything is going to live.
To Those Already Subscribed
To the 21 of you who subscribed earlier — thank you.
This is a fresh start, and I’m glad you’re here for it.
If you want to keep following along weekly, you’re all set.
If you ever want to explore more, each section is now organized and easy to find.
And if you’re new, or coming back after a long pause — welcome.
I hope this space encourages you, challenges you, and gives you something worth thinking about each week.
Thanks for reading,
— Brian
